Panchagarh District: A to Z information

The name Panchagarh is thought to have originated because of the precise location of the five averages in the region. The word ‘punch’ is associated with the nomenclature of various places. Such as  Panchanad, Panchabati, Panchanagari Panchagour etc. This area was in ancient times an area called ‘Panchanagari’ under ‘Pundunagar’ state. This is a district of Rangpur division. This one is situated at northern part of Bangladesh.
