Rangpur District: A to Z information

Rangpur district is a part of rangpur division. It is situated in the northern part of Bangladesh. Rangpur was conquered by the army of Raja Man Singh, the commander of the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1775, but by 1686, it was fully integrated into the Mughal Empire. Names of places like Mughalbasa and Mughalhat bear witness to the past of Mughal Sangha and Rangpur and its inland. The head of Jatya Party Hossain Mohammad Ershad was also born in this district.
